Britt Gallagher

Artist Statement
My paintings are subjective and spontaneous imaginings that are largely - though not always - untethered to any worldly purpose or message. I avoid stark lines and dark themes. I try to avoid dogma. I emphasize color and light in order to dial-up the levity and bring cheer to myself as I paint.
Artist Bio
I am a self-taught painter who by this point paints almost exclusively in oils.
Though much of my childhood was spent in the Deep South (Mississippi), I have lived most of my life in the beautiful state of New Mexico.
I have painted for as long as I can remember, but my current style evolved in about 2015. In the collection on this site, "Summer" is the oldest, having been painted in 2016.
I live with my wife and our two cats, Bella (below) and Oliver.
